Mortal Instruments

My favorite thing is the Mortal Instruments book series. It is my beyond favorite book. I've read the series three times and still love it.
A thousand years ago, the Angel Raziel mixed his blood with the blood of men and created the race of the Nephilim. Human-angel hybrids, they walk among us, unseen but ever-present, our invisible protectors. They call themselves Shadowhunters. The Shadowhunters obey the laws set down in the Gray Book, given to them by the angel: their mandate is to protect our world from the interdimensional parasites they call demons, who travel from world to world, razing and destroying everything in their path. Theirs is also the task of keeping the peace among the warring Downworlders: the human-demon crossbreeds we know as warlocks, vampires, werewolves, and faeries.
In their duties they are aided by the mysterious Silent Brothers. Their lips and eyes sewn shut, the Silent Brothers rule over the City of Bones, the necropolis below the streets of Manhattan that holds the dead bodies of slain Shadowhunters. The Silent Brothers keep the archival records of ever Shadowhunter ever born. They also watch over the Mortal Instruments, the three divine objects the Angel Raziel gave to his children. One is a sword. One is a mirror. And the last is a cup. For a thousand years, the Nephilim have protected the Mortal Instruments. But that was before the Uprising, the civil war that almost tore the Shadowhunters’ secret world apart.
Though Valentine Morgenstern, the Shadowhunter who started the war, is long dead, the wounds it left behind have never healed. Fifteen years have passed since the Uprising. It’s August in New York; the streets blistering with heat. Rumors run rampant through Downworld that Valentine is back, at the head of an army of Forsaken warriors. And the Mortal Cup has gone missing…
When Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder— much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing—not even a smear of blood—to show that a boy has died.Or was he a boy? This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary people like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .
Mortal Instruments is the best book I have ever read. It has ups and downs... sideways. It always had me on my toes and I liked it so much it is one of my favorite things.

Spring Break

For spring break I'm going to Louisiana with Megan Slagle. On Monday we are going to drive to San Antonio and fly out to New Orleans. From there we are driving to Batenrouge, where we are staying. We are staying at the Blue Bonnet Resort. My dad is really going there for business, that's why I got to bring a friend.
Sadly I have to watch my brother, but who cares when there's a pool, spa, and Mini golf course. We are staying there for three days (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday). Wednesday we are leaving and flying to Housten.
From there my gaudy aunt is picking me up. She maybe annoying, but she owns a two story, seven bedroom house and only her and my step uncle live there. She owns a pool, golf cart, and is in walking distance of a lake. My mom will meet us there and we are staying there for a night.
Then the next day we hang out and then drive to Galveston for my dance Nationals. We are staying at yet another resort, Moody Gardens. We are staying there two nights and coming back home the next day.

Recycle More! I want to help recycle more plastics, papers, and cans. And doing this as much as possible. I want to keep our community clean of recyclable, reusable, and reducable products. This will help keep things cleaner, because most things on the side are recyclable. Reuse, reduce, recycle, please!

What I want to be...

When I grow up I want to be a marriage and family psychologist. Marriage and family psychologists are therapists who concentrate on the family and how it affects our development and living. In order to obtain a job like this you must be able to Diagnose and treat mental disorders, conduct psychotherapy with individuals, couples, and families, develop treatment plans, and help clients develop new interpersonal communication skills. The average salary around fifty thousand dollars a year. A collage degree and a certificate are needed in order to become a psychologist. There is no certain place you need to live in order to have this job. Well, to have this job you need a lot if time.

Victory or Death

The letter, Victory or Death by William Travis, has had a huge impact on Texans today. It helps many to understand the importance of bravery and standing up for ones beliefs. To never back down no matter what comes at you. To stand strong and stay tall. To not only believe but to fight.
The men at the Alamo stood there ground and showed there bravery. They stayed strong even though they were sourounded by Santa Anna's men who were firing at them. Although they we're beat in numbers they had bravery and courage on there side.
In its 13-day stay at the Alamo, this faded 177-year-old letter touched the lives of tens of thousands of Texans - and non-Texans-Houston Chronicle. This touched many people and how they felt about the Alamo and the people inside.
William Travis wrote,“I am besieged by a thousand or more of the enemy under Santa Anna.” Although they were surrounded the men at the Alamo fought on, never to go astray. They continued to fight while knowing then soulders surrounding them would continue to multiply. Never to cease I till they surrendered or died.
Many knew they would die. Here in the letter Travis wrote,“If this call is neglected, I am determined to sustain myself as long as possible and die like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor and that of his country.” He knew his life would soon end, but instead of fleeing he fought for his country. Although he was not alive for our freedom from Mexico he was just as much involved as those of the living.
“I shall never surrender or retreat." These simple words show that he would not give up. Although he knew he would die, he knew he would not last, he knew all these things yet he fought on. Because he knew if he surrendered now he would be just as good dead as he was living.
“I have sustained a continual Bombardment and cannonade for 24 hours and have not lost a man. The enemy has demanded a surrender at discretion, otherwise the garrison is to be put to the sword if the fort is taken.” He continued to keep the fight going even though they were surrounded. He knew what the future of the Alamo held, but he still never ceased.
"Victory or Death." These words are still popular today. Never ceasing there meaning, but to remind us we could win but not with out a fight. Those Texans at the Alamo would rather have died then spent another day under the rule or Santa Anna and his cruelty. He would enslave them before they could continue there rebellious ways.
“I have answered the demand with a cannon shot and our flag still waves proudly from our walls." Our flag still waves proudly today in the front of schools, in some yard, in a few houses. But, no matter where it is it still waves proudly for our freedom. Never to fall short. We still have our freedom today and never stop.
“The enemy is receiving reinforcements daily and will no doubt increase to three or four thousand in four or five days.” Travis knew their days were numbered growing smaller and smaller for every hundred men Santa Anna called for. Yet, he still continued to shoot and fight on. Never to stop and think, but continued to shot on and endless rampage.
“P.S. The lord is on our side." William believed he had the help from The Lord to help the Texans through this battle. Weather The Lord fought with them or not they still held there ground and died true Texan heroes. Always to be told of for future years.
"The Travis letter is universally regarded as one of the most heroic letters ever written.  Facing almost certain death, Travis vowed never to surrender or retreat and to "die like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor & that of his country"-texasheritagesociety.org. Out of true bravery Travis wrote this letter and is now what many would call the most heroic letters ever written.
At the beginning of the letter Tavis addressed it, “To the People of Texas and All Americans in the World." I don't think he thought it would be so important years after it was written, but is. It stands for so much the texans have fought for. Many do not of William Travis and this letter. They may have heard his name in a history lesson or in textbook, but not many have sat down and read through his "Victory or Death" letter.
Although the Texans lost that battle there bravery and courage will stay with texans forever. This letter might not make it that far, but it will always be treasured by those who do know of it.

A New Year

My new year plans consist of being a tad quieter, but just a tad. I'm thinking maybe if I shush my mouth maybe I'll get some work done. I don't mean like becoming a quiet person just I won't be so loud.
GET MORE SLEEP!! I'm always tired. If I get more sleep then I won't mope around. Plus, after athletics I'm two times tireder then I was.
This year I plan to do something productive like helping the community, or helping my little brother (not). Baby sitting for free.
I plan on saving money to buy some uggs because I am no longer aloud to have any from my parents. This is because I ripped the sole off halfway by accident of course. I also lost two buttons, burned the tip when I fell on a treadmill, spilled chocolate syrup on them, and made a hole in them.
I also want to save my money to go on a shopping spree in San Antonio. I have done it before and would love to do it again. But with more money because I ran out pretty fast.
Last but not least I have decided I will find a case that will protect my phone. I have broke my phone or it's case every time.
