What I want to be...

When I grow up I want to be a marriage and family psychologist. Marriage and family psychologists are therapists who concentrate on the family and how it affects our development and living. In order to obtain a job like this you must be able to Diagnose and treat mental disorders, conduct psychotherapy with individuals, couples, and families, develop treatment plans, and help clients develop new interpersonal communication skills. The average salary around fifty thousand dollars a year. A collage degree and a certificate are needed in order to become a psychologist. There is no certain place you need to live in order to have this job. Well, to have this job you need a lot if time.

Victory or Death

The letter, Victory or Death by William Travis, has had a huge impact on Texans today. It helps many to understand the importance of bravery and standing up for ones beliefs. To never back down no matter what comes at you. To stand strong and stay tall. To not only believe but to fight.
The men at the Alamo stood there ground and showed there bravery. They stayed strong even though they were sourounded by Santa Anna's men who were firing at them. Although they we're beat in numbers they had bravery and courage on there side.
In its 13-day stay at the Alamo, this faded 177-year-old letter touched the lives of tens of thousands of Texans - and non-Texans-Houston Chronicle. This touched many people and how they felt about the Alamo and the people inside.
William Travis wrote,“I am besieged by a thousand or more of the enemy under Santa Anna.” Although they were surrounded the men at the Alamo fought on, never to go astray. They continued to fight while knowing then soulders surrounding them would continue to multiply. Never to cease I till they surrendered or died.
Many knew they would die. Here in the letter Travis wrote,“If this call is neglected, I am determined to sustain myself as long as possible and die like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor and that of his country.” He knew his life would soon end, but instead of fleeing he fought for his country. Although he was not alive for our freedom from Mexico he was just as much involved as those of the living.
“I shall never surrender or retreat." These simple words show that he would not give up. Although he knew he would die, he knew he would not last, he knew all these things yet he fought on. Because he knew if he surrendered now he would be just as good dead as he was living.
“I have sustained a continual Bombardment and cannonade for 24 hours and have not lost a man. The enemy has demanded a surrender at discretion, otherwise the garrison is to be put to the sword if the fort is taken.” He continued to keep the fight going even though they were surrounded. He knew what the future of the Alamo held, but he still never ceased.
"Victory or Death." These words are still popular today. Never ceasing there meaning, but to remind us we could win but not with out a fight. Those Texans at the Alamo would rather have died then spent another day under the rule or Santa Anna and his cruelty. He would enslave them before they could continue there rebellious ways.
“I have answered the demand with a cannon shot and our flag still waves proudly from our walls." Our flag still waves proudly today in the front of schools, in some yard, in a few houses. But, no matter where it is it still waves proudly for our freedom. Never to fall short. We still have our freedom today and never stop.
“The enemy is receiving reinforcements daily and will no doubt increase to three or four thousand in four or five days.” Travis knew their days were numbered growing smaller and smaller for every hundred men Santa Anna called for. Yet, he still continued to shoot and fight on. Never to stop and think, but continued to shot on and endless rampage.
“P.S. The lord is on our side." William believed he had the help from The Lord to help the Texans through this battle. Weather The Lord fought with them or not they still held there ground and died true Texan heroes. Always to be told of for future years.
"The Travis letter is universally regarded as one of the most heroic letters ever written.  Facing almost certain death, Travis vowed never to surrender or retreat and to "die like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor & that of his country"-texasheritagesociety.org. Out of true bravery Travis wrote this letter and is now what many would call the most heroic letters ever written.
At the beginning of the letter Tavis addressed it, “To the People of Texas and All Americans in the World." I don't think he thought it would be so important years after it was written, but is. It stands for so much the texans have fought for. Many do not of William Travis and this letter. They may have heard his name in a history lesson or in textbook, but not many have sat down and read through his "Victory or Death" letter.
Although the Texans lost that battle there bravery and courage will stay with texans forever. This letter might not make it that far, but it will always be treasured by those who do know of it.
